Privacy policy
Saber has no accounts and does not ask who you are. It does handle building and utility data, and this page explains where that data goes.
Building data
The building description you enter is sent to our server when you run an analysis. The analysis runs in a temporary folder that is deleted when it finishes.
If you load a .pkl building file, its contents are held in the server's memory so the analysis can use them. The file is not written to disk.
Utility bills
Utility data that you upload as a CSV or type in month by month is saved on our server, in a folder named after your project. It is not deleted automatically.
Choose a project name that does not identify a person or a street address. To have your utility data removed, write to the lab through the contact page and give the project name.
Chat assistant
Messages you type into the chat assistant pass through our server to Anthropic, whose Claude model writes the replies. The conversation is not saved by Saber and is gone when you reload the page. Please do not put personal information in the chat.
Other services
- The Work Sans typeface is loaded from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address.
- Weather data for the building's location is fetched from NOAA by our server, not by your browser.
- The site and its server run on Microsoft Azure, which records standard request logs (IP address, time, page and browser type).
What we do not do
- No sign-in, no user accounts.
- No cookies and nothing saved in your browser's storage.
- No analytics, advertising or tracking scripts.
